Manitoulin Island
There are two ways to get from Toronto to this
island, which is located at the northern tip of Georgian Bay.
- You can take the ferry at Tobermory which you
can reach from Toronto by driving up the west side of the bay. The drive
takes 3.5 hours and the ferry has at least one hour wait and a 1:45 ride.
This takes you to Baymouth, from which all other points on the island can be
reached for 1 to 2 hours' drive.
- You can drive along the east side of the bay
towards Sudbury along highway 400 and the scenic highway 69. You can reach
the bridge to the island at Little Current in about 6 or 7 hours.
