Cape D'Or

Undiscovered and left undisturbed, Cape D'Or is a quiet retreat some 20 minutes west of Parrsboro, adjacent to Advocate.

At the tip of cape stands a lighthouse that overlooks what could be "the edge of the earth" (or as close as you can get to it).

Guess what? You can have your dinner there and spend the night too! Contact http://www.capedor.ca/

You have to park your car at an area atop the mountain. This is the view from the parking lot.

Then you walk down a sloping trail towards the lighthouse.

If you're adventurous, wait for low tide and hike down the slopes to the coast. This hike is rocky and slippery. Take a cane.

When you reach the water, you get rewarded with a close look magnificent view of these cove on the south  side of the cape.

The view on the north side is equally breathtaking. If you're lucky, you may hear or even see a falcon, which nests on one of the cliffs.

Then, go back up to the tip of the cape just in front of the lighthouse, facing two large rocks. The sunset is heavenly.

At night, when you're all alone, just listen to the waves. The waters on both sides of the cape clash in rage exactly at the coastal tip.
