Maritimes - The Gaspe Peninsula

Parc Gaspesie

This huge provincial park, just 15 minutes from Ste-Anne-Des-Monts, forms the north end of the Appalachian mountain range.

Climb up Mont Jacques Cartier and feast on the view.

But beware, it's a steep and rocky climb. It is even slippery after the rains. It takes two hours to climb the one kilometer slope.

When you get to the top, there is no ice cream stand. Just rest on the bench and drink some water. The hike going down is even more adventurous.

But enjoy the breath-taking view (Tip: don't go up if fog is in the weather forecast)

The drive along the park.

Going fishing?

Be prepared for some rough terrain

Or fallen trees.

Or to disappear in fog.
